This is my last blog post before the wedding and our honeymoon! I’m taking about two weeks off from the blog to maintain my sanity. I can’t believe that it’s already here. These past 11 months flew by! It feels like just yesterday Nick got down on one knee, but it was the week before Christmas last year! You can read our engagement story here

After 11 months of planning, we couldn’t be more excited! I’ve been the main planning person and contact with our vendors, so my brain has felt too full for several months now. It’s been very hard to keep up with this blog and I haven’t been able to post as much as I did in the beginning of the year. 2016 has been so busy — moving, starting a new job, and planning a wedding.

It will be so nice when the wedding is here, we can enjoy our day, and then we’ll be laying on the beach relaxing soon after that. Once we get back from the honeymoon, the plan is to get back into the blog full-force. I’ll finally have the time to do what I am wanting to do with this space!

Hopefully everything comes together! We’re going for a romantic, vintage, classy rustic look for our wedding. The bridesmaids are going to be in blush, and the groomsmen in a light grey suit with a navy tie. We’ve tried to tie in blush and navy colors throughout the wedding– navy lace around mason jars, navy ribbons around bouquets, navy table numbers etc. Our other colors are white, gold and greens– I ordered a ton of seeded and silver dollar eucalyptus to scatter throughout to add a lush look.

Speaking of greenery… we’re doing the floral all ourselves. I ordered bulk flowers online — blush garden roses, blush and cream spray roses, white roses, white hydrangea, babies breath, eucalyptus and plumosa. The day before the wedding is our “Floral Party”, where I’ve invited a bunch of ladies over to help put together the bouquets, boutineers, corsages, centerpieces, etc. We saved thousands of dollars doing it ourselves, so please send positive vibes our way and hope that they come out good!

Above is a picture of my bridal portrait bouquet that I made out of silk flowers. It’s almost identical to what my wedding bouquet will look like! I actually photographed a tutorial about how I made it so look for that towards the end of November.
