If we were having coffee this morning, I’d tell you that this week went by so fast. I was in Austin for the Texas Association of School Nutrition’s annual conference Monday through Wednesday. Dairy MAX had a big booth and it was so much fun getting to know my coworkers and networking with school nutrition professionals. I got to see one of my best friends while I was there, and that was a big bonus!
If we were having coffee this morning, I’d tell you that my favorite blogger group, The Recipe Redux, turned 5 this week! I’ve been a member for a several years now and it has been such a HUGE factor in the growth of this blog. I’ve met so many bloggers (and in person too!). They did a special theme this month where you got to choose a recipe from another member and recreate it. Unfortunately I ran out of time this month to recreate a recipe, but several blogging friends recreated some of mine! Be sure to check them out!

If we were having coffee this morning, I’d tell you that I’m so happy that the Bubble Yum dress fiasco is over. I ordered my bridesmaid dresses from a shop on Etsy which had tons of good reviews. I ordered a swatch in a really pretty light blush color– the second I saw it I thought it was a perfect color! So we went ahead and ordered all five of them. Well, when they came in…. BRIGHT PINK. I cried. I’m not normally that picky about things but they were seriously bubble gum pink.
Turns out, the chiffon is the correct color, but the underlay they added is a bright pink, which totally changes the entire color of the dress. I did not get to see this underlay before purchasing. Three of the five dresses also had sizing issues and were INCHES too big in certain areas. Hello, Bubble Yum dresses. Ugh.
After two months of arguing with the seller on Etsy (who didn’t think she did anything wrong), I filed a dispute with my credit card company and they gave me my money back. Etsy has been less than helpful, they only intervened with one message the entire time. I would highly discourage you or anyone you may know from buying custom made dresses from Etsy and/or their merchant Renz Rags.
I found a new dress at Alfred Angelo that I’m having my bridesmaids order, I’ve seen it in person so it will be beautiful. And it is the correct color of blush.
If we were having coffee this morning, I’d tell you I’m happy my June Day Designer came in this week! I used my old one almost every day for the past year. Each page gives you space to outline your schedule, along with a giant to-do list and important reminders. Making lists gets me through like, I’m so scatterbrained that I try to write everything down the second I think of it.
That’s all folks! If we were having coffee this morning, what would you tell me?
