Ingredients

For the sauce:

  • 1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp corn starch
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 Tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, minced
  • 2 Tbsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1 pinch red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 Tbsp sriracha
  • 1/3 cup low sodium beef broth

For the dish:

  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 lb flank steak, cut into thin strips against the grain
  • 2 small heads of broccoli, cut into florets
  • 1 cup frozen, shelled edamame
  • brown rice for serving (about 1 cup cooked per person)
  • sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine all the sauce ingredients and whisk well. Set aside.

  2. In a large skillet or wok, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the steak and cook for 2-3 minutes, let the sides just get brown. Add the sauce and stir well, cook for 1 minute.

  3. Add the broccoli and edamame and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until steak is cooked through and broccoli is tender.

  4. Serve over brown rice and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
