Introducing Yummly

April 3, 2015

Happy Friday, friends!

Today I want to introduce y’all to one of my new favorite websites: Yummly.

Introducing Yummly |zenandspice.com

Yummly is very similar to Pinterest, but ten times more organized! And it’s just for recipes! I’m a huge Pinterest user, but sometimes it’s hard to find specific recipes. Yummly has unique search filters that allows you to to find recipes by holiday, cuisine, taste, diet, nutrition, allergy, cook time, technique and so much more. Users can “Yum” a recipe, and the more yums a recipe gets, the better you know it is! There’s over a million recipes and you can save them to your recipe box with one click.

Yummly’s search option is so detailed. I love how you can filter through so many things–diets, allergies, cuisine, and I love the “salty” “savory” “sweet” filters! You can also filter by high protein, low carb, low calorie.

I love cooking, and every weekend I sit down and plan my menu for the week. I usually scour Pinterest for new recipes, and sometimes it takes a while to find something healthy, without certain ingredients, etc.

As a blogger, it’s a great avenue for people to discover your recipes. Bloggers who educate their readers, encourage use of Yummly, and promote their Yummly publisher page see more Yums and more traffic. Volume of recipes is also a factor. More recipes on Yummly will lead to more referral traffic! Each website or blog that contributes recipes has it’s own publishers page. I am in the process of obtaining my publisher page now!

I’m planning on using the site to find recipes for my own menu planning each week, finding inspiration for blog recipes, and promoting my own content!

If you’re on Yummly, make sure to “yum” my recipes by clicking the yum button at the top or bottom of each post!

I’ve never tried yummy before but I think you’ve just convinced me to do it! Does it take a long time to add your recipes to the site?
