How To Dry Your Herbs Using Corkboard

May 5, 2014

Hi everyone!

I hope everyone had a great Cinco de Mayo, we did not drink margaritas nor did we have Mexican food… rather I went for a long run (the farthest I’ve been able to go in months!) and made this teriyaki chicken zoodle recipe. Deeelish!

Today I wanted to share my latest invention. If you’ve been following me so far, you know that I planted a herb garden out on my balcony a couple months ago. It’s been growing like crazy in this beautiful 80 degree weather! I needed somewhere to dry my herbs. So I came up with this!

Here’s how I made my sneaky, hidden, below the cabinet herb dryer!

I went to Michael’s craft supply store and bought a pack of pebbled cork board. It was on clearance, I think I paid $8 for a pack of four sheets.

Next, I held up the cork board to the underneath of my cabinet and marked off the edge with a pen.

Then I cut the cork board into strips.

 Attached the adhesive pads…

Then stuck them to the underside of my cabinets! Sorry for the blurry pics, that’s the best I could get with our under the counter lights.  You get the idea!

Ta-da! I hung up my herbs using rubber bands and push pins.  You can’t see the cork board at all and it’s a great place to hang the herbs! They’re out of the way and in a safe spot in the corner of the counter.

How do you dry out your herbs?
