I hope everyone had a fun and relaxing weekend! My sister Leslie’s 23rd birthday was Saturday, so we spent the weekend celebrating!
We took a family trip (my Mom, Dad, Leslie, her boyfriend Taylor, my little brother Dave, and me) down to the Dallas Arboretum. Every year, they have something called “Dallas Blooms”, where literally thousands of tulips bloom over the entire garden. This was the second to last weekend of the event, after this they will start planting flowers that will survive the heat of a Texas summer.
It was 70 degrees, sunny, with a cool breeze. Absolutely gorgeous weather. I couldn’t stop taking pictures of all the blooms! Here’s a cherry blossom tree:
There’s something so inspiring and peaceful about flowers. I am in love with all the colors and textures.
Someday I will have a garden like this in my backyard. It’s a must. I loved all the neatly planted rows!
I had never really knew what an azalea bush looked like– but they were everywhere, in so many different colors! Here’s one of my favs– a dark pink/red.
So. many. tulips. These were “fringed” and looked like they had lacy edges!
Here’s me and my “little” brother, Dave. He’s 18 and a senior in high school. He graduates in June and he’s #4 in his class. Super smart kid. He’s going to UT Austin in the fall, majoring in Neurology, and he couldn’t be more excited! And I’m excited for him– I can’t wait to come visit him in Austin. It’s such a fun town!
Me and the birthday girl! Leslie turned 23 this weekend. We are 20 months apart (I’ll be 25 in July) so this is the 3 months out of the year where we’re only “one year apart” in age.
Going backwards… Friday night, we went out to Uptown Dallas to celebrate Leslie’s birthday. From left to right: Me, Leslie, her friend Amanda, Leslie’s boyfriend Taylor, and my boyfriend, Nick. We jumped around to several different bars, and ended up here at Avenu on McKinney Ave. The drinks were expensive ($10 a pop) but they played awesome dancing music. I met all my steps goals for two days in a row in just a couple hours. Haha. Worked off those drinks ;)
Me and Nick :)
Sisters!
What did you do over the weekend? Eat any fun Easter meals or treats?

I love walking outdoors and enjoying the scenery that Spring can bring with it, especially the newly bloomed flowers. The Dallas Arboretum looks gorgeous! Well when you visit UT to see your brother, perhaps you can visit my fiance and I as well! We made the decision we are moving there this June/July. :)
Being outdoors, especially in the spring is one of my absolutely fav things to do :) And awesome, I’m glad you were able to make a decision! Austin is such a fun place to be!
