Description

If you loved Tuna Helper as a child, bring back those happy memories with a homemade version using simple ingredients! Peas and garlic sauteed in butter along with heavy cream and Parmesan. So simple!

Scale

Ingredients

  • 16 oz rotini pasta
  • 3 tbsp butter, unsalted
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 ½ cups frozen peas
  • ¾ tsp salt
  • 1 ½ cups frozen peas
  • 1 ½ cups heavy cream
  • 3 oz Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 3 (6 oz) cans chunk light tuna in water

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions.
  2. Meanwhile, heat another large pot over medium heat. Once the pot is hot, add butter and swirl to coat the bottom. Add garlic to the pot and stir until fragrant, 15-30 seconds.
  3. Add peas and salt. Cook, stirring occasionally, until peas are heated through, 4-5 minutes.
  4. Add cream to the pot with the peas and bring to a simmer. Once pasta is done, drain and add to the pot along with the Parmesan.
  5. Drain tuna, add to the pot, and gently stir to combine.
