I love partnering with companies that have a similar mission. Anytime we can make nutritious eating easier and more accessible for people, I am all for it. Last week, we talked about how it’s just not always possible to plan your meals every single week.
Meal planning is one of the most important things you can start doing to live a healthier lifestyle, but sometimes it just doesn’t work out. Obstacles such as going out of town, kids’ sports games, out of town guests, etc. can all get in the way of your normal meal planning routine. You still want to stay on track and make mindful choices, and you don’t want to end up in the takeout line.
Choosing fresh pre-prepared foods can be a simple solution, if you know what to look for! When choosing these types of meals, look for meals around 500 calories, high in protein, and lower in sodium. If they contain fresh veggies, even better. My Fit Foods offers over 60 nutritionally balanced meals that meet these guidelines, and are made fresh daily and refrigerated until you pick them up from the storefront.
In September, you can go to a My Fit Foods location (they have over 50 locations in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, California and Illinois to choose from) and when you purchase a meal, you can donate this meal to a friend or a local hunger-relief charity.
Here in Dallas, they’re donating meals to the North Texas Food Bank. I’ve been a huge supporter of this charity for a long time.
Something cool is happening in Dallas this week—join me at My Fit Foods this Thursday, September 17th from 7-9pm to learn how you can Pay Fit Forward with an evening of fitness, a delicious meal, and tips to help you take action to live a more nutritious and healthy lifestyle.
My Fit Foods is pairing with several of us heath and wellness bloggers! I’ll be there along with Lea of Running with Ollie for a 30 minute circuit workout session. The theme for the #PayFitForward campaign is “partners”, so she’s planning a “partner” themed workout so be sure to grab a friend to come with you.
After the workout, they’re giving out a free meal (who doesn’t love free food) during a Q&A with Kim’s Craving’s and a My Fit Foods Nutritionist! It will be interesting to hear how they come up with recipes and how they keep their meals so fresh. I’m excited to meet these fellow health bloggers in Dallas!
