Happy Friday! I am happy to be back with another virtual coffee date post. Excited to share what’s been going on lately and some pictures of our new apartment.

If we were having coffee this morning, I’d tell you that we are all settled into our new apartment! We both took 3 days off of work to unpack and we were so glad that we did. The entire apartment was set up by the time Memorial Day weekend was over and we had to go back to work.

I knew I had a good feeling about our new complex for a reason. I found running trails through a park just a block away from the complex. It was so beautiful– wind rustling the trees, green grass, and so quiet. This may just be my new happy place.

If we were having coffee this morning, I’d tell you that I’m going to be traveling up a storm this summer. I’m going to Austin, San Antonio, Chicago and Maine all within a six week time frame. Ah! Three of those trips are for work and one is for my blog. I like to travel but this will be a little crazy!

If we were having coffee this morning, I’d tell you I’m so relieved to be in our new place. I can finally start blogging on a regular basis again… I was doing so great at consistency, publishing 3 posts a week and my pageviews were going up. Now that I’ve had to take a break they’ve gone down and I know I’ll have to work hard to get them back up again.

If we were having coffee this morning, I’d tell you that I think I found another bootcamp to attend here in Fort Worth! I was going to a great one back in Dallas. I tried the new one out yesterday and it was good, plus it was at a park with a two mile jogging trail around it– my plan is to go 3x a week and run afterwards. Just six months until wedding/honeymoon time!

Okay, now onto a little tour of our Fort Worth home!

Beginning with the huge-ass balcony. It’s 8 x 22 feet, people. My grandparents gave us a really nice wrought-iron patio set and it fits perfectly. I plan to fill all of those pots with plenty of flowers and herbs as soon as possible! I’ve been eating breakfast and lunch out on the patio and it is so nice to have a place to go outside. We have a cool view of the surrounding city and golf course as well.

Here’s our new dining room! In our other apartment, the table was in the kitchen with no established dining space. It’s nice for the table to have it’s own room now. We bought the buffet table you see here in the back (from Nebraska Furniture Mart) and loaded it up with all of our liquor, wine and drink glasses, and our Soda Stream (which by the way is amazing for making sparkling water).

You can see the galley kitchen in the back. I was afraid of not having enough cabinet space, but turns out I have more than enough! I just can’t buy any new appliances… must resist…

Our new living room! We were SUPER excited for this. Our old couch and love seat set were so uncomfortable. This couch is also from Nebraska Furniture Mart and I love the dark grey color. We also bought the grey ottoman and it’s so nice to have a place to stretch out and relax. Nick and I can both fit on here laying down.

I’ve already fallen asleep on this thing several times.

My new office! We are using the second bedroom as a study/guest bedroom. I bought a new L-shaped corner desk with a matching file cabinet. Funny story… I had to build this thing myself and I accidentally cracked the LAST piece of wood as I was putting it together. Thankfully Staples let me exchange that piece for another from a different box and I didn’t have to take the whole thing apart.

I have plenty enough room for my desktop and my work laptop and room to spread papers out, which is what I needed since I work from home now!

My new bookshelf (which I also put together myself). I didn’t have a bookshelf before, so all my books were spread across the apartment in piles. Now I can actually see which books I own… and not buy duplicates… speaking of, does anyone want a copy of Will Write For Food or 500 Low Sodium Recipes? Oops.

Our new bedroom (… and my new photography studio!). I LOVE the bright light and all the windows in here. It will be perfect for photography. In this picture you can see the headboard that I made myself, along with the nature prints.

newapt-8I bought this cube shelf from Target to house all of my blogging props! The cubes on the bottom have all of my plates, bowls, dishes and my giant napkin collection. My food boards are stored under the bed. Can’t wait to get back into the swing of things. My second Sprouts recipe is due next week so I’ll be working on that this weekend!

We are really enjoying it so far. More space just in general across the living room/kitchen/dining room. It does feel like we are in a bigger apartment (it’s 200 square feet larger). And I like that it feels homey. The paint, light fixtures and the layout remind me of a house.

We had my parents and grandparents over, as well as Nick’s family, over to visit for Memorial Day weekend. It was nice for everyone to see our new place, and having family over made it feel more like home.

That’s all until next week!

If we were having coffee this morning, what would you tell me?
